4th Africa Apimondia Symposium (AfRA) 2026

The Uganda National Apiculture Development Organisation (TUNADO), with the support of Bees for Development, is honoured to host the 4th Africa Regional Apimondia – Beekeeping for Business and Livelihoods Symposium 2026 (AfRA 2026) in Kampala, Uganda, from 25th to 28th August 2026.

AfRA 2026 is an official Apimondia event, organised in accordance with the Apimondia Statutes, Bylaws, and Regulations, and will bring together beekeepers, researchers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, development partners, and value-chain actors from across Africa and beyond. The symposium will provide a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, innovation, and collaboration aimed at strengthening beekeeping as a viable business and a sustainable livelihood.

In addition to the scientific and technical sessions, the symposium will feature a national exhibition of bee products, showcasing the diversity, quality, and potential of products from beekeepers across Uganda. This exhibition will celebrate local enterprise, promote market access, and connect producers with buyers and partners.

The symposium will explore key themes including beekeeping for business and livelihoods, nature-based innovations, apitherapy entrepreneurship, pollination services and safe agrochemical use, access to export markets, stingless bees as a livelihood catalyst, and inclusive beekeeping approaches focusing on youth, education, and marginalized groups.

We warmly invite all interested participants to register and take part in AfRA 2026. To register or request further information, please email us at info@tunadobees.org.

Join us in Kampala as we shape the future of African beekeeping—connecting nature, business, and livelihoods for sustainable development.
