Honey Week 2024
The Uganda national honey week is an annual event and outcome of the Apiculture Multi stakeholder Platform – MSP 2008. Since its inception in 2008, the National Honey week has been organized 12 times. Due to the well-known national lock-down brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, the honey week did not take place in 2020 and 2021. As such, TUNADO, as a mandated coordinator together with MAAIF and other Apiculture MSP members is organizing the 13th National honey week.
The main purpose of this event is to raise awareness on the potential of beekeeping to conserve the environment, provide green decent employment to women, youth, marginalized communities and PWDs. The event will feature exhibition that will allow value chain actors to showcase their bee products and raise awareness among the general public on the importance of apiculture in Uganda’s agriculture, Environment and economic development. The event will also provide a platform for lobbying, advocacy, networking, marketing, feedback (on services, Innovations and products) and exchange of business contacts which are all critical for business growth.
