Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is TUNADO?

The Uganda National Apiculture Development Organization (TUNADO) is a membership apex body that was mandated by the government to coordinate apiculture industry in Uganda.

2. What does TUNADO do?

TUNADO helps and supports beekeepers to make a sustainable living. We particularly help those poor but active youth and women because they lack access to services. Through our projects and work with partners, we provide education and information about beekeeping to them.

3. Does TUNADO provide equipment of beekeeping to farmers?

TUNADO encourages beekeepers to become autonomous. We also believe that equipment can be made by the farmers themselves using simple materials or be bought by the beekeepers using money earned either from the sale of hive products or other sources.

4. Does TUNADO fund the beekeepers?

No! TUNADO is a not for profit organization. We believe beekeeping can help people become self reliant and earn a steady income provided they have the information that they need.

5. In case I want to write an article for the Api news letter, how do I submit my article?

TUNADO is very much willing to receive articles from any beekeeping community. Just write your article and submit it via Email on This email address is being protected from spambots.
